Use of Firebase (Cloud Firestore & Analytics)
Our app uses services from the Firebase platform by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Firebase is a development platform for mobile and web applications that provides various services for data processing and analysis.
Cloud Firestore:
We use the cloud database "Cloud Firestore" to store app data. This may include user profiles (e.g., name, email address), settings, or sent messages. Data processing and storage takes place exclusively on servers in the "europe-west6" region (Zurich, Switzerland).
The stored information is accessible only to you and to us as the operators, and is not shared with third parties.
Firebase Analytics:
We also use Google Analytics for Firebase to analyse usage behaviour in the app and to continuously improve our app. The following data is automatically collected, among others:
- Device information (model, operating system)
- Location data (approximate, based on IP address)
- Demographic data (e.g., age, gender, if available)
- Usage data (e.g., features used, session duration)
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA/AAID)
The analysis is carried out anonymously or pseudonymously.
Data Transfer to Third Countries:
Data processing generally takes place in the server region mentioned above. However, it cannot be ruled out that data may also be transferred to other countries. Google is certified under the Data Privacy Framework and is thus committed to complying with European data protection law.
Legal Basis:
The processing of data in connection with Firebase is carried out for the fulfilment of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and on the basis of our legitimate interest in reliable and secure functionality, as well as in the analysis and improvement of our app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
